Guyana Police Force Bursaries and Awards 2015

On Friday August 21, 2015, the Guyana Police Force presented Bursaries and Awards to 141 children of ranks who have successfully completed the National Grade Six Assessment. The presentation was held at the Police Officers’ Mess Annexe, Eve Leary, where special cash incentives were awarded to the top eleven (11) students.

They were headed by the joint first-place winners Miss Sephora Persaud and Miss Naomi Stephen who were awarded places at Queen’s College. The top place students are the daughters of Assistant Commissioner Balram Persaud and Detective Sergeant 14731 Nigel Stephen, respectively.

A total of $5.2M dollars will be paid out to the students inclusive of a Bursary of $25,000.00 and a gift voucher for assisting in the purchase of school uniforms.

During the activity the students were addressed by Assistant Commissioner “Operations” Mr. David Ramnarine, DSM, and the Chief Education Officer Mr. Olato Sam who both commended them on their achievement and urged that their parents/guardians continue to give them the necessary support as they move on to another level in their education.
