The Guyana Police Force in keeping with its youth empowerment initiative has recently concluded a summer camp for 25 children, between the ages of 5 and 15 years, from the Rosemary Lane Youth Club.

The camp was held at the Police Sports Club Complex from July 27 to August 7, 2015, where the children were exposed to religious teachings, educational classes in Mathematics and English and Craftwork of which tie-dye was focal.

They were also treated to a number of outdoor activities that included tours to the Guyana Police Force Mounted Branch, the Botanical Gardens, Parika and the Giftland Mall where they were entertained by a movie.

In giving the closing remarks Head CID, Senior Superintendent Wendell Blanhum, encouraged the youths to focus on their education and to maintain good relationships as they strive to be the best they can be in life. He also indicated that efforts are being made to assist with basic back-to-school items in time for the new school term.
