Police and GCB Officials discuss security arrangements for the upcoming Women Super 50/T20 tournament in Guyana

Deputy Commissioner ‘Operations’ (ag) Mr. Ravindradat Budhram, this morning (June 3, 2022) chaired a meeting with officials of the Guyana Cricket Board, to discuss the Force’s security postures and arrangements for the upcoming CG Insurance Women’s Super50 Cup and CWI T20 Blaze Cricket tournament that is slated to be hosted in Guyana.

The meeting which was held at the Officers’ Training Centre Boardroom, focused primarily on the Force’s operational postures, security details for the athletes during their stay, as well as arrangements for their transportation before and after the matches.

The tournament is scheduled to start on Tuesday, June 7, and ends on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Matches will be played daily at three venues – the Guyana National Stadium, Everest Cricket Club, and Enmore Cricket Ground.

Commander of Region 4’A’, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean; Commander 4’C’, Senior Superintendent Khali Pareshram; Commander 4’B’, Woman Superintendent Denise Griffith, and Traffic Chief, Superintendent Ramesh Ashram were also a part of the meeting.

Guyana Cricket Board’s Territorial Development Officer, Mr. Colin Stuart; Event Coordinator, Dr. Viola Rowe; Head of Security, Mr. Robby Saywack and Cricket West Indies – Project Officer, Ms. Sheena Gooding were among the two entities officials who were a part of the meeting.
