Police are investigating a ‘serious incident’ which occurred at about 01:15hrs today (Sunday 5th January 2025) on the Land of Plenty public road, Essequibo Coast, which involved a motorcycle (CP 115) owned and driven by Mark Kendall Simon, a 32-year-old Labourer from Cottonfield Essequibo Coast.
Enquiries disclosed that the motorcycle was proceeding North on the Land of Plenty public road, Essequibo Coast, allegedly at a fast rate when the driver lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a GPL utility pole located on the western side of the road.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist fell onto the roadways, where he received injuries on his body.
He was picked up in an unconscious state by Anti-Crime patrol ranks and conveyed to the Suddie Public Hospital.
The victim was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who treated him for head injuries, a fractured rib, and a fractured hip, and he was later admitted as a patient at the said institution.
The motorcycle was taken to the Anna Regina Police Station, where it was lodged to be examined by a licensing and certifying officer.
