Earlier today (January 6, 2025), Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken pinned epaulets on the shoulders of three ranks from the Guyana Police Force who are advancing in their studies at the Art Williams and Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School located in the compound of the Eugene F. Correia Airport.
The ranks are Lance Corporal Leslie Williams and Constable Gregory Cummings, who are commencing their third year studies and Constable Sarah Higgins, who is commencing her fourth year.
During the simple but significant ceremony held in the Commissioner’s office, he urged the ranks to remain disciplined, dedicated, and devoted throughout their studies.
Commissioner Hicken further stated that the Guyana Police Force is proud to have ranks studying in this field since they will contribute significantly when the Force acquires its own Air Wing.
Additionally, Mr. Hicken stated that these ranks will act as an inspiration to fellow members of the Guyana Police Force to continue on the path of developing themselves and the Fore as a whole.
Accompanying the ranks was Cadet Officer Troy Doris, who completed the Private Pilot License Single Engine Certificate and graduating as the valedictorian of his programme.
The Commissioner assured the ranks of his support and by extension the Guyana Police Force in their further studies and any future studies that will enhance the capabilities of the Force.
