……Regional Division 4’C’
Over the weekend, the Guyana Police Force in Regional Division 4’C’, in collaboration with civilian youth leaders, hosted a series of Easter-themed activities that brought together young people from various communities along the East Coast corridor. These activities, which emphasized youth empowerment, cultural awareness, and community bonding, were led by Inspector Camacho and supported by police ranks and civilian facilitators.
At Vryheids Lust, Inspector Camacho spearheaded a vibrant kite distribution exercise involving the Vryheids Lust Young Achievers Youth Group, with support from W/Inspector Barlow, W/Sergeant Marks, and Lance Corporal McDonald. Civilian leaders Shaundell Inniss-Chapman and Trevor McArthur also played key roles in organizing the event. Youths engaged in discussions about the significance of kite flying and the cultural meaning of Easter.
In Grassfield, members of the local youth group participated in a friendly cricket match on Third Street, Foulis, with Sergeant Robin present to offer support and encouragement.
In Plaisance, W/Sergeant Caleb met with the Pace Setters Youth Group for a dynamic discussion on the Easter Season. The event concluded with the distribution of kites and the presentation of a four-burner gas stove, generously donated by a community stakeholder.
The Enterprise Youth Empowerment Youth Group, led by W/Sergeant Chapman, Corporal Drayton, Constables Washington, and London, along with youth leader Romel Putulall, conducted a similar kite distribution exercise throughout the Enterprise Station District.
Further fostering unity and collaboration, scouts and youth members from the Regional Division 4’C’ Police Scout Group visited their counterparts at the St. Augustine Scout Group in Buxton for a backwoodman cooking expedition. The activity included the preparation of roasted chicken and plantain, games, and team-building exercises. The visit highlighted camaraderie and mutual respect between the two scout groups, both pledging to continue promoting scouting across the region.
The Haslington Young Ambassadors gathered at the Haslington playfield for a fun-filled balloon popping competition, with prizes awarded to the winners. The groupโs motto was proudly recited at the close of the event. Police Leader W/Inspector Halley-Fraser was joined by civilian leaders Desiree Williamson, Dinna Luke, and Onama Hall, with sixty-one enthusiastic youths participating.
At another community level, Corporals Waterman and Glasgow-Wilson, along with W/Constable Shepherd engaged members of the Future Vision Youth Group in a community walk to commemorate ‘Palm Sunday.’ The event fostered open dialogue, encouraged community safety, and strengthened relationships between the police and the youth.
In Vigilance South, W/Sergeant Stewart facilitated a creative and interactive session with the Gender-Based Youth Group, featuring painting and board games. The activity provided a positive outlet for self-expression and reinforced teamwork and social interaction.
These collective efforts reflect the continued commitment of the Guyana Police Force to youth development and community strengthening. Through these joint activities, police and civilian leaders are working hand-in-hand to create safe, engaging spaces for young people, while nurturing trust, unity, and positive cultural values across Regional Division 4’C’.
